Updated: 4:08 PM PDT Mar 30, 2023 On March 27, 2023, Animal Control Officers and the Hollister Police Department arrested Ritsuko Nakaya for felony animal cruelty after serving a search warrant at her residence. The officers had been responding to a welfare check at a local veterinary office where the owner had failed to adequately treat her cat for an infected abscess, causing pain and preventable paralysis.
